The typical risks of your sector

Burns (fryers, griddles, steam) — 180 °C oil and the dinner rush are unforgiving
Cuts (knives, slicers) — blades moving at the pace of service
Slippery floors and falls — grease, water and speed in the same aisles
Handling in tight spaces — cases and kegs moved through narrow passages
Gas equipment — open flames and gas lines in a busy space

Fine exposure

Not having a prevention program is an offence under s. 236 of the LSST — from $2,115 to $4,226 per statement of offence for a legal person (first offence, 2026). If the absence of measures contributes to compromising a worker's health or safety, s. 237 applies: from $21,127 to $84,519, and up to more than $400,000 for repeat offences.
